saw some candidates making big list of formulas for quantitate aptitude
section. Yes, these formulas are very much useful. But I suggest against
buttifying all these formulas. Basically, you should be thorough with the
concept, not the formulas. When you know the basic concept underlying the
question, you can automatically get the solution without having need to
remember different formulae. Let me explain clearly: lets take some example of
some basic formulas like
Speed = distance / time
If you know this formula, you can
automatically deduce following formulae:
Distance = speed x time
Time = distance / speed
Also, you can deduce following
relations:
Speed is inversely proportional to
time
Distance is directly proportional
to time and speed
S1/S2 = D1/D2 x T2/T1
So, if you understand the concept
behind the formula, you don’t have to remember all the complex formulae. Just
by using basic formulae, you can deduce relationship between qualities given in
the question.
