Dussehra which is also know as Vijayadashami, Dashahara is the most important festivals of Hindu celebrated in various parts of the country across Nepal, India and Bangladesh. Dussehra referas Lord Ram’s victory over ten-headed evil king Ravana. The day is also marks as the victory of Goddess Durga over the evil Mahishasur. In Bengal it is celebrated as Durga Puja festival, this festival epitomizes the victory of good over evil. The Durga Puja celebration is set according to the Hindu calendar. The prominence of Durga puja gradually increased from the British Raj in Bengal. It is the most socio-cultural festival in Bengali Hindu society.
