Tirumala Venkateswara of Tirupati: Lord Balaji on the Seven Hills of Tirumala

Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is the famous Vedic temple on the hill town of the Tirumala, near Tirupati in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. This ancient and sacred temple of Sri Venkateswara is located on the seventh peak, Venkatachala (Venkata Hill) of the Seshachalam range and l on the southern banks of Sri Swami Pushkarini. Temple of Sri Venkateswara has acquired unique sanctity in the Indian religion. The Puranas, Sastras, Sthala Mahatyams and Alwar hymns unequivocally declares that, in the Kali Yuga, one can attain mukti, only by worshipping the Venkata Nayaka or Sri Venkateswara. The temple has its origin in Vaishnavism, an ancient sect which advocates the principle of equality and love, and prohibits animals sacrifice.
