Craig Smith, a South African cricketer by profession, was born in Johannesburg,
South Africa on February 1, 1891. Apart from his leading the home team, Smith
also leads English County Cricket team - Surrey. An aggressive player by nature,
Smith has numerous records under his belt in all the formats of the game. He
became the second African player, and 12th in the world, to complete 9,000 test
runs.
Smith was awarded with the prestigious 'Cricketer of the Year' award for
2001-2002 for his magnificent run during the season. He has been lauded with
different honors and awards for his outstanding tenure as the South African
captain. He got married to Morgan Deane, an Irish singer. Together they have a
daughter and a son. He is extremely diligent on social media and maintains a
constant touch with his clan and fans.
